Salut à tous ! J'espère que vous allez bien. Un peu tôt pour un article sur Halloween ? Pas du tout car l'automne est ma saison préférée (et c'est dans un mois), j'ai un an d'articles à rattraper et surtout j'ai vu des décorations d'Halloween hier chez Target (et ça m'a fait plaisir). J'ai toujours aimé Halloween : l'ambiance, les costumes, les films d'horreur... mais en France il ne se passe pas grand chose. Adolescente, j'organisais des fêtes chez mes parents. Avec ma mère nous refaisions la décoration du salon et mes amis et moi nous déguisions. Je savais en arrivant aux Etats-Unis que j'allais me régaler à cette saison et je n'ai pas été déçue ! Dès fin septembre, les citrouilles et autres couronnes de portes apparaissent. J'en ai d'ailleurs acheté une que vous pouvez voir ci-dessous.
Si vous venez à New-York pour Halloween, vous verrez des décorations un peu partout. Néanmoins, je vous recommande particulièrement les quartiers suivants : Greenpoint, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Garden pour Brooklyn, Greenwich Village et Upper West Side pour Manhattan. Le 31 octobre, je travaillais et toute l'école était en costume. Je ne peux pas vous mettre des photos des élèves ici mais croyez-moi c'était dingue ! J'ai fait classe à Eleven de Stranger Things, Spiderman, Jules César, un gâteau d'anniversaire géant et j’en passe... Avec mon collègue et ami Sebastian nous voulions faire un duo et nous avons choisi Charlie (Waldo en anglais) et sa copine dont j'oublie toujours le nom.
Mes amis Adèle et Jean Jean (de France) étaient là pour Halloween. C'était génial de partager ce moment avec eux. Ce jour-là, ils sont venus me chercher à l'école et nous avons déambulé dans les quartiers de Carroll Garden puis Brooklyn Heights avant de rejoindre Manhattan pour assister à la grande parade. Bien que celle-ci soit grandiose, notre moment préféré a été sans aucun doute la fin d'après-midi avec les familles déguisées dans les rues avec leurs enfants réclamant des bonbons. Certains costumes étaient vraiment incroyables ! Je réfléchis déjà au mien pour cette année même si je ne sais pas trop à quoi cela va ressembler. Peut-être un costume incluant un masque ?

Hi guys! I hope you’re doing well. A little early for a post about Halloween? Not at all because autumn is my favorite season (and it’s in a month), I have a year of posts to catch up, and I saw Halloween decorations yesterday at Target (and it made me feel happy). I always liked Halloween: the atmosphere, the costumes, the horror movies... but in France there is not much going on. As a teenager, I used to organize parties at my parents' house. My mother and I would decorate the living room and my friends and I would dress up. I knew when I arrived in the United States that I would enjoy this season and I wasn't disappointed! At the end of September, pumpkins and other door crowns appear. I bought one that you can see below.

On October 31, I was working and the whole school was in costume. I can’t put pictures of the students here but believe me it was crazy! On that date, m'y students were Eleven from Stranger Things, Spiderman, Julius Caesar, a giant birthday cake and so on... With my colleague and friend Sebastian we wanted to do a duet and we chose Waldo (Charlie in French, don’t ask me why) and his girlfriend whose name I always forget.
My friends Adèle and Jean Jean (from France) were here for Halloween. It was great to share this moment with them. They came to pick me up from school and we strolled through the Carroll Garden and Brooklyn Heights neighbourhoods before heading to Manhattan for the big parade. Although this one is grandiose, our favorite moment was undoubtedly the late afternoon with families in costumes in the streets with their children trick-or-treating. Some of the costumes were really amazing! I’m already thinking about mine for this year even though I’m not sure what it’s going to look like. Maybe something with a mask involved?
